Beginning as a COVID lockdown project between Mark Jaeschke and Delia Hornik, Party'z has expanded, contrasted, and expanded yet again since the project's inception in early 2020. The first collection of songs were written piecemeal, sent back and forth in email threads until they were recorded in the summer of 2021. These first four songs capture the escapist mentality of the early months of the pandemic, bringing sunny pop jams and hazy songs of longing to the forefront.

lyrics
there’s something lazy about saturday
i’ve left my bones hang out to dry
keep going through the motions
anything to get you off my mind
i guess that’s so much for trying
i don’t even know what we’re fighting about
but it seeds a reasonable doubt
and now i can’t believe
how you got so far from me
the same way summer breeze turns to fall
and monday always feels like it’s last call
yeah, i got so close to dying
you said you never knew what i meant by that
but every time we look into each other’s eyes
we used to see the future
now we’re just reminded that saturday’s our useless metaphor
so can we chalk it up to best intentions,
leave behind all of the broken memories
you were never one for long goodbyes,
but now i guess it’s time
i never loved you more
i never loved you
